ANTICIPATION BUILDS
Members of the JKS Ireland Squad gathered this morning in Hokubu Dojo, Swords for their final Squad Session before departing for the JKS 5th Continental Cup in Belgium in two weeks’ time.
For the first half of the session, Squad members covered a selection of kata, focusing on finer competition details in preparation for the upcoming tournament.
An energetic kumite session followed and Squad members pushed hard in their training as they focussed on attention to detail in scoring techniques, speed and kime.
There was a heightened buzz at the session this morning as anticipation builds for the event and Dermot Sensei concluded the session with some calming sage advice about participation at an international event. This was welcomed by all, and particularly by members who are participating at this level for the first time.
The Squad will fly out to Belgium on 1st of September, and will compete in team events on the 2nd and individual events on the 3rd. We wish them the very best of luck. Oss!
